After just arrived and having jetlag, we were playing against Poland in the first round. Board No. 3 gave us a test and the full distribution was

The result was 5+0 (-650), while in the Open Room, the opponent played 5 doubled down 1 (+100). We lost 11 IMPs in this board.

I played 3NT down 1, while in the Open Room the opponents made 2 ! We lost 5 IMPs.

The next board, No.6, we had a chance to get 6 IMPs after we were reaching game and the opponent stopped at part score.

On this board, my partner Elwindra played 4 and LHO led J, won by A in hand. He then played 2 to A, T to K and West took with A. West cashed heart, switched to diamond and contract was down 1. In the Open Room the opponent stopped at 2 plus 2, another double-score for Poland, we lost another 6 IMPs.

The Final Result was 11-19 VPs.

I concluded that despite of jetlag, we lost to Poland mostly because we wasted so many chances to win. The Polish had some underbid in the Open Room against my teammate, Hidayattullah-Muhammad Reza, but at the same time I did so many wrong guesses and did not handle the hands correctly. I hoped that on the next rounds I would play better.
