WOODGROVES MULTI

The Woodgroves Multi convention begins with the opener bidding 2 Diamonds. The holding of the opener can vary according to the partnership understanding and will be clarified during the ensuing auction. The employment of the Woodgroves Multi is to some degree questionable and should be cleared with the governing bridge organization. The convention is illustrated as below:

The responses to a 2 Diamond opening are as follows. The concept is to first of all have the opener clarify his holding.

  This is Lebensohl. Requests opener to play Minor suit at Three Level or

 

  promises a 6-card Major suit and is invitational. Requests opener to rebid 3 Clubs

In the case that the opponents enter the bidding process, the defense mechanisms below outline the line of communication. If the opponent does not interfere with the continuation and natural understanding of the Woodgroves Multi, then the additional features remain the same as had no interference occurred.

Responses by the partner of the opener after an immediate overcall of 2 Hearts or 2 Spades are generally made as had no overcall taken place. The exception is the use of the double which requests that the opener pass with a weak Two in the overcalled suit.
